It’s time to show our support for British Retail

Content Author

The outbreak of Covid-19 has had a dramatic impact on peoples’ lives. Physical retailers that aren’t deemed essential have been asked to close with no clear indication of when they might re-open. At the same time, many would-be shoppers are naturally anxious about their futures. However, the pandemic also presents an opportunity for people to come together and support each other, spreading positivity and a sense of togetherness in a way not seen since the end of WW2.

At DivideBuy, we’ve put together a few simple steps we can all take to support each other during this challenging time.

Treat yourself

Now more than ever, how you choose to spend your money can make a huge difference for small independent retailers. If you’re financially able to, even a simple chocolate bar can lift your spirits. Use DivideBuy to purchase something special without damaging your disposable income.  From a new bed to gardening equipment, spread the cost over a few months completely interest free.

Leave a review for an online retailer

Bought something from an independent online retailer recently? Were you wowed by the product or the service? Let them know by leaving a review on Google, Facebook or another online platform. Not only do these reviews provide useful feedback for the sellers, but they also let other potential customers know the seller is reliable and trustworthy.

Share a post on social media

Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram come into their own at a time of crisis. When everything is uncertain and things are changing very quickly, social media is a great place for businesses to share up-to-the-minute information with their customers. If you like, comment on or share any of these posts, it gives independent retailers a great chance of being exposed to new customers.

There are a plethora of reasons that 2020 will be the year of the staycation. Many months of looking at the same four walls have caused us to get the holiday itch, but some are not quite ready for the close proximity of air travel or visiting countries where the pandemic is still rife and […]
