Get kitted out in the kitchen

There’s something uniquely satisfying about tucking into some delicious food that you’ve prepared yourself, whether it’s a mouth-watering meal for one, or a gut-busting dinner party banquet.

Finding time to cook, though, is not as easy as finding the time to eat! Figures from YouGov show that only around 1-in-8 of us cook every meal from scratch. Busy, stressful lives at work and at home mean we’re more likely to want to spend time on the couch than in the kitchen.

Fortunately, there are an ever-increasing number of hi-tec kitchen gadgets available through our retailers to help us save time, hassle and effort when preparing food, from blenders and food processors to smokers and sausage makers. Even better, they make it super easy to preserve food, too, so you can do the preparation in advance and then tuck it away in the freezer for future use.

Bag yourself a blender using interest free credit

Blenders have become a must-have kitchen appliance in recent years, driven by the surging popularity of homemade smoothies and healthy drinks. It’s not hard to see why. What used to be a finicky, time-consuming task for only the most dedicated kitchen guru, can now be done in seconds at the touch of a button.

Whether you’re whizzing up some fresh berries for a thirst-quenching smoothie or stirring a perfect pitcher of frozen cocktails for a summer dinner party, a quality blender can turn every ingredient into smooth, creamy perfection.

Our retail partners offer a wide range of blenders on interest free finance for every task, from battery-powered handhelds, to more sophisticated worktop models that can handle larger quantities and more complex functions.

Find the perfect food processor

If you need something with a bit more power and versatility than a blender, you can’t go wrong with a food processor on interest free credit from one of our retail partners.

A food processor quickly performs a variety of food preparation tasks that were traditionally carried out by hand, enabling you to slice, dice, chop and mix in seconds.

Some food processors can chop vegetables, like carrots or courgettes. Some can blend a mixture of ingredients into soups, sauces and pastes. While others are ideal for blending things like cream, batter and dough.

In fact, one of the main benefits of a food processor is that it can do so many different things, using various accessories and functions. These will typically include different types of discs for slicing or grating, and a variety of blades for chopping or mixing. Some food processors also come with blender-like functions, perfect for mixing a smoothie or cake mix, so you can tick several boxes with one gadget.

Save money on a sizzling smoker

The BBQ craze of recent years has also seen a rise in other ‘savoury’ food prep gadgets, like smokers.

The delicious smell and visual spectacle mean that smoked food is always a crowd pleaser. Whether you’re planning to make some home-smoked mackerel, a side of cold-smoked salmon for Christmas breakfast, or a rack of smoked BBQ ribs for a special occasion, there’s something primal about the warmth and aroma of smoked foods.

It’s important to note, though, that there are two different types of smoking:

Hot smoking cooks food at around 150°C while smoking it. Popular examples of hot-smoked food include American-style pulled pork, ribs, which you mighty need to smoke for a few hours, to mackerel, salmon or duck, which might only take 20-30 minutes to hot smoke.

Cold smoking surrounds the food with smoke, but never lets the temperature get really hot. The food therefore stays ‘raw’, so it’s ideal for products that would melt under high temperature, like smoked butter, cheese or cold salmon. Food can also be cold smoked for flavour and to help preserve it, and then cooked at a later date, liked smoked bacon.

Whichever option you go for, though, the flavours and textures you get from smoked food are hard to beat.
